Veil Tales!! A little clip from a practice session where I was working with new to me music, which is “Fortune Teller” by the talented @simona_abdallah and with transitions with my veil.
Love the colours and movement of this veil, called “Show me the Monet” by @silksbycelestina if you need (or just want) a new veil and want to support a small business/artist check out her page.
Silks veils are so beautiful but they can be tricky and frustrating, especially in humid heat where sweat and moisture can cause them to stick to your and weigh them down changing how they move and react slightly. So of course that is all the more reason to practice in those conditions and learn to work within them and figure out what does work (and what doesn’t work) for dealing with them in those settings. Practice is pretty much never perfect but it’s actually the only way to get closer to perfection (if that is your goal). I can’t stress enough that learning to dance does not happen in 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months etc. It is continual and on going. It is much more about the process than the end result, for me anyway. It does not stop when you become a professional. There is no master level where learning and practicing are no longer required. It is continuous self work, fortunately it is as fun as it is frustrating❤ If you want to learn to dance with me check out my patreon page for dance tutorials for those completely new to dance and/or those wanting to revisit their foundations, and for Intermediate and up Drills and practice videos and guides (including veil work) for just $10 a month. If you have not checked it out yet I encourage you to give it a whirl, give it a swirl, and give it a twirl www.patreon.com/cassandrafoxdance
