Chick Churchill ( born Michael George Churchill, 2 January 1946 , Ilkeston, county Derbyshir) started playing the piano at age 6 and studied classical music. With 15 years of interest in blues and rock music. Nottingham formed his first band “Sons Of Adam”. Churchill then met Alvin Lee of ” The Jaybirds”. Cnachala he joined the band as a manager, but soon became the keyboardist . In November 1966 the name was changed to “Ten Years After”. With this group, Churchill played at major rock festivals , including Woodstock in 1969, and Isle Of Wight Festival ( 29 August 1970 ) . In 1973 he recorded a solo album, “You & Me”. ” Ten Years After” broke up in 1976. Churchill then became a professional manager to ” Chrysalis Music”.
