Padi Reborn, formerly known simply as Padi, is an Indonesian pop-rock music group composed of Ari Tri Sosianto (guitar, backing vocals), Andi Fadly Arifuddin (vocals), Surendro Prasetyo or Yoyo (drums), Rindra Risyanto Noor (bass, backing vocals), and Satriyo Yudi Wahono or Piyu (guitar, backing vocals). The band made their debut in the Indonesian music scene in the late 1990s with the single “Sobat” from the compilation album “Indie Ten,” which was also included in their debut studio album, “Lain Dunia” (1999).

Originally formed under the name Soda, the band eventually chose the name Padi, which reflects a grounded philosophy, symbolizing prosperity and humility. Throughout their career in the Indonesian music industry, Padi has released several albums, including “Lain Dunia” (1999), “Sesuatu yang Tertunda” (2001), “Save my Soul” (2003), “Padi” (2005), and “Tak Hanya Diam” (2007). They have also released singles like “Tempat Terakhir” and “Sahabat Selamanya,” garnering numerous awards and nominations, including AMI Awards, Anugerah Planet Muzik, and MTV Indonesia Awards.

After a hiatus of nearly 7 years and 12 years without releasing a new studio album, Padi, now operating under the name Padi Reborn, released their sixth album titled “Indera Keenam” on October 25, 2019. The album, accompanied by a release concert on November 2, 2019, underwent a year-long production process starting from early 2018. “Indera Keenam” consists mainly of re-arranged old songs and some new tracks, marking their return to the music scene with refreshed energy and creativity.
