Chor und Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks spielen unter der Leitung von Sir Simon Rattle Werke von Pierre Boulez, Francis Poulenc und Maurice Ravel. Das Konzert wird am 30. Mai 2025, ab 20:00 Uhr aus der Münchner Isarphilharmonie, Gasteig HP8, übertragen.

Die Wirkung von Francis Poulencs doppelchöriger A-cappella-Kantate Figure humaine ist enorm: Atemlos spitzt sich das Stück, das Gedichte des surrealistischen Lyrikers Paul Éluard in Klang gießt, in einen über vier Oktaven aufgefächerten Akkord zu, der den Sopranistinnen ein dreigestrichenes 'E' abverlangt. Ein Aufschrei als überwältigendes Finale dieses Chorjuwels, das zu den Lieblingswerken Sir Simon Rattles zählt. Mit Maurice Ravels Daphnis et Chloé (von dem bedauerlicherweise häufig nur die zweite Suite gespielt wird) schreitet der BRSO-Chefdirigent nach Fallas Dreispitz weiter auf seinem musikalischen Weg durch die Ballets Russes. Rituel in memoriam Bruno Maderna spielt Rattle Pierre Boulez‹ zu Ehren, der dieses Jahr seinen 100. Geburtstag feiert: "Mein Lehrer, Mentor und Freund, den ich schwer vermisse."

The impact of Francis Poulenc's double choir a cappella cantata Figure humaine is enormous: Breathlessly, the piece, which sets poems by surrealist poet Paul Éluard to music, culminates in a chord spread over four octaves, demanding a high E from the sopranos. A cry as an overwhelming finale of this choral jewel, which is one of Sir Simon Rattle's favorite works. With Maurice Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé (of which unfortunately only the second suite is often played), the BRSO chief conductor continues his musical journey through the Ballets Russes after Falla's The Three-Cornered Hat. Rattle plays Pierre Boulez's Rituel in memoriam Bruno Maderna in honor of Boulez, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year: "My teacher, mentor, and friend, whom I miss dearly."
