A tribute night organized by Tommy McGuinness, celebrating one of the most iconic figures in not just Scotland, but World Football. Jock Stein's career was enriched with success and at this time, the then Scotland Manager was surprised with an evening of music in fine company to celebrate his achievements that were far greater than just on the pitch, stretching into social and community issues that surrounded the history of Scotland.

A huge thank you to the Docherty family for allowing me to share this footage. Not only does it capture John Doc at his very best, but it also showcases several iconic figures in Scotland away from the public scrutiny that goes hand in hand with being involved with Football in Scotland, in a relaxed social atmosphere that is rarely seen in this context, especially from that era.

This video is dedicated to the memory of those in attendance that are no longer with us, including John Docherty, the Immortal Jock Stein and his wife, Celtic legends Sean Fallon, Bertie Auld and Jimmy Johnstone, along with Robert McCallum Reynolds and David King Taylor Shanks.

Jim McLean, founder of Nevis Records and prolific songwriter, produced and recorded John's first two albums and incredibly gifted me the master tape of the first Carousel album. The second wasn't archived with the rest of the masters and the master tapes for the two E.P.'s seem to have disappeared. There's a good chance that Sam Plotnikoff or Graham Christopher may be in possession of the master tape of Hasties Farm, so if anyone is in contact with them if they're still with us, please let them know that I'd like to speak with them. If anyone has any information on the records, whether it be where the albums were recorded, pressed or any insight on where the masters may be, please reach out so we can get them digitized to preserve The Doc's music in the best possible quality.

I have listed the singers throughout the evening, however, the MC has been the only reference so there may be inaccuracies from what I've heard - please don't hesitate to correct any of the below. There was no year listed on the recording, but will most likely have been recorded between 1982 and 1984.

All songs performed by John Doc and his band.
