The festive concert held in honour of Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider, took place in Olympus Congregation on Saturday, 09 December 2023.
This event not only set the stage for the divine service on Sunday, 10 December in Dinwiddie Congregation, but also created a joyful festive atmosphere.
This special occasion included a range of different performers, comprising the Gauteng Children’s Choir, the Gauteng Concert Orchestra and the Gauteng Concert Choir, who intended to impart a vibrant sense of celebration to those present.
The repertoire featured festive and African traditional music, including captivating musical pieces like the African "Holy Night", “Plea for Africa”, “Adeste Fideles’, and a piece with a quartet, choir, organ and orchestra rendering "Behold, what manner of love" and "Joseph’s Carol”.
The children performed the songs "One Little Candle" and a rendition of "Siyahamba" while showing off their beautiful dance moves. Culminating with the Christmas Medley, "Joy to the World," the concert concluded on a high note.
In his parting words, the Chief Apostle asked those in attendance to reflect on what God has done for us and what we can become. And in doing so, the bigger and more visible our joy can be.
