Kings of Leon is an American rock band from Nashville. The band consists of three brothers Caleb, Jared and Nathan Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill. Kings of Leon was formed in 2000 and has released eight studio albums. The brothers spent their childhood mainly on the road with their father, who was a preacher in a church community. The band plays a mix of blues, country music, punk, garage rock and rock-'n-roll. The band was a supporting act for big names such as Pearl Jam, U2 and Bob Dylan for a long time. They can also be found at many festivals. The group has built up a large group of fans, mainly in the alternative music circuit, mainly through word-of-mouth advertising. The band is also very popular in the United Kingdom. They achieved success with songs such as "Molly's Chambers", "The Bucket" and "Four Kicks". The album Because of the times reached number one in the album charts in that country. On September 22, 2008, the fourth album Only by the night was released. The single "Sex on Fire" became their first number 1 hit in the English single charts and in Finland in September 2008. The second single "Use Somebody" also did well. The song reached first place in the Flemish Ultratop 50. In October 2010, the fifth album Come Around Sundown was released, with the Grammy-nominated "Radioactive" and "Pyro" as singles. In September 2013, Kings of Leon's sixth album, Mechanical Bull, was released. In 2012, the band received a star in the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville. On October 14, 2016, the seventh studio album Walls was released. The album called When You See Yourself was released on March 5, 2021. In February 2024, Mustang was released, the first single from the album Can We Please Have Fun, which will be released in May 2024.
