The first of hopefully many already remastered live recordings to be unearthed from my hard drive this year! ???? Taking up nearly 50% of the votes on our YouTube poll, it was super clear which show you were wanting to hear first. Thanks for letting your voices be heard ????

Regarded by some as Queen's best performance of 1984, this show features a heap of wildcard moments all around. Especially astounding considering Freddie's vocal state just a week or two prior, causing a few other Sun City shows to be cancelled/postponed. The rest of the band are certainly adamant to bring their A game here too!

As far as the work I've done to the tape, the majority was completed back in August last year. This being a lossy source did impact how much I could get out of the sound, but you'll still notice fairly significant improvements overall! Side One had between 10-12KHz worth of detail to work with, and only around 8-10KHz on Side Two.

Funnily enough, the steps on Izotope weren't the most time consuming, as the little hiccups with volume and skipping/repeats throughout were too irritating to ignore ???? Obviously for the skips (mainly on Side 2) I can't magically make the lost portions re-appear, but I've reversed all the repeats I could find, and there were quite a few!

At the end of the day, with this and the other remasters yet to be featured, I've made a concerted effort to keep a reasonable balance between the time/effort being spent and the actual payoff. Using this show as an example, I could've potentially spent so many more hours/days/weeks finding and obsessing over any other miniscule artifact which could be present, but at a cost too significant to be deemed worthwhile. Time that could (and has) been spent focusing on a wide range of different shows to share with you over the remainder of 2025 instead ????

In more simple terms, I'll never claim these live remasters are 100% perfect. But if I can reach 90%+ within a reasonable timeframe and is a noticeable improvement, I absolutely feel it's a worthwhile addition to the community. And hey!
