Osei Vasco’s Ashanti Brothers Band was, like Kofi Sammy’s Okukuseku Band and Dr. Paa Bobo’s 3 Axes Band, one of those bands that begun its career in Ghana in the mid-70s but didn’t hit their full potential until they moved to Nigeria in the late-70s and early-80s. This album, however, was one of three they released in Ghana before their relocation to Nigeria.
This album contains the original versions of some of the songs, like Abusua Do Funu and Sika Anibre (AKA No Insurance), that they would go on to re-record or rewrite on some of their later Nigerian albums.
