1. Set: 00:31:00
2. Set: 01:43:30
André Matov –guitar
Dimitrij Markitantov – sax
Lars Kuklinski –trumpet
Jo Aldinger – hammond organ
Bernd Oezsevim – drums, perc.
There is no room for a car in Matov’s metaphorical Garaж (pronounced – garage). The shelves line the walls with records and sheet music: music from the Carpathians and the Balkans, from the Bosphorus, the Aegean and the Levant, from Bulgaria, Anatolia and Macedonia, but also jazz, surf and R’n’B. In addition to microphones, cables and effect pedals, historical electric guitars, woodwind and brass instruments are also stored here. In the middle of the room: a fully assembled drum kit, a historic organ with bass manual (or pedals?) and a guitar amplifier with twang turned up. What happens when five musicians around the composer and guitarist André Matov, who have been working together for years, enter the room and give free rein to their joy of playing with technical demands and sophisticated humor – this is the sound of MATOVSGARAЖ.
