The Nizio Foundation, The Legia Foundation and The Polish Chamber Musicians' Association together with their partners proudly present an online broadcast of the "Concert for Ukraine" performed in the Nizio Gallery in Warsaw, Poland on March 11th, 2022.

“Concert for Ukraine” was an expression of solidarity with Ukraine and support for the activities of The Foundation “Our Choice” (FOC), an NGO established in 2009, which since the year 2014 has been running the Ukrainian Home – a place where foreigners, especially Ukrainian citizens, can feel safe and sound:

You can make donations to help Ukrainian refugees, which will go directly to the Ukrainian House:

If possible, please type the following transfer description: "Concert in Nizio Gallery - donation to support Ukrainian refugees".

Mirosław Nizio, founder of the Nizio Foundation and Nizio Gallery, owner of the Nizio Design International architectural studio:

“We organized this concert to support refugees from Ukraine on the initiative of the Nizio Foundation, Nizio Gallery and the Legia Foundation. It so happened that, since 2018, my Nizio Design International office has been designing a very significant building in Kiev - the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide. During these three or four years we have made friends with many wonderful Ukrainians- curators, historians, people who strove very strongly to tell about the Holodomor, to reveal the truth about genocide. This cooperation brought us even closer and the decision to act in the current situation, to support Ukraine, was obvious to us".

Anna Mioduska, president of The Legia Foundation:

We have gathered here together tonight, many beautiful words were spoken by many beautiful people who have opened the doors to this beautiful venue for us. It is a pity that the reason for our meeting at the Nizio Gallery is not so beautiful anymore. There is a regular war going on right behind the wall. Millions of people are in need, looking for a safe haven. We do not know how long this situation will last, but we have to prepare that it will not end in a week or two. As the Legia Foundation, we help women and children from Ukraine. We do this to give them the support they need in these difficult days.

The guests at the live concert left monetary donations collected by volunteers from the “Our Choice” foundation in a special registered can.

During the event there was a premiere performance of Patrycja Betley’s composition-anthem “Waltz for Ukraine”. The vocalist Karolina Cicha also appeared in the Nizio Gallery; she sang a symbolic Ukrainian folk song. The core of the “Concert for Ukraine” musical program was prepared by outstanding musicians who are known to our audience from the “Wnętrza Muzyki” (The Insides of Music) concert series organized at the Nizio Gallery in partnership with The Polish Chamber Musicians' Association. Classical compositions were played by pianists from the Ravel Piano Duo, i.e. Agnieszka Kozło and Katarzyna Ewa Sokołowska, and pianists from Zarębski Piano Duo, i.e. Piotr Różański and Grzegorz Mania. Some jazz pieces were also performed that evening, thanks to the courtesy of the vocalist Agnieszka Wilczyńska and the pianist Kasia Pietrzko.

All musicians waived their royalties, and the organizers and partners worked and provided the necessary equipment pro bono. Thank you!

Slava Ukraini! ????????????
