@ShawnDesmanVEVO made a triumphant return to the stage with a sold out show at History in Toronto, marking a full-circle moment for the pop star. Following a performance at OVO Fest in 2022 — and a pep talk from Drake himself— Desman’s passion for performing was reignited after nearly a decade away from the spotlight, kickstarting this new chapter of his career. Desman opened his night at History with a shortened version of his 2010 jam Night Like This, immediately followed by a wave of famous hits including Get Ready and Let’s Go. From the moment the house lights went down and the crowd roared, it was clear that the night was both a comeback and a celebration. The show was a masterclass in pop excellence. Backed by a full dance crew, Desman delivered perfectly executed choreography and shared a palpable rapport with the audience. The setlist was mainly a nostalgic journey through his hits, including Shiver and Nobody Like You, but newer releases Maniac and Love Me With the Lights On were sprinkled throughout, signalling his return. Desman’s energy was at a 10 the entire time, and he closed the show with the powerhouse hit Electric, then returned to Night Like This, this time in full. As the crowd roared, Desman was visibly emotional, and thanked the fans for their unwavering support, alluding to more to come with a simple: “See you in 2025!”
