Regularly performing internationally and to continual acclaim, tonight’s ensemble is highly experienced in the music of Handel, including the oratorios and the operas. Prior to 1960 tonight’s comic cantata – written in Rome in 1707 – was known only as a fragment; but the discovery of a complete score in Münster has led to many modern performances.
