The second of two nights in the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, this is yet another great show of the Be Here Now Tour. A month into the tour, everyone is again in good form, and the crowd are certainly loving it. This show also has a bit more fame to it’s name due to the audio from this show being used for the official releases of songs from the third night at Earl’s Court (which fooled me for ages as in fact being the real audio from that gig) but it does actually come from this show, which has a very good sounding broadcast recording, the only problem I find to be is Liam’s voice being a bit too low in the mix at times and the pitch being flat which I have fixed somewhat but it’s still not perfect (the increments of change in pitch on my particular app is too big to be perfect). As for which of these two nights are better, it’s not as easy as it seems. While I think Liam sounded a bit more fresh on the first night, hitting the high notes a bit easier (though still sounds pretty excellent here) I think this night has the better instrumentation, especially from Noel of course doing some great playing in many of the songs and continuing the trend of making some really nice melodies in the ending of Live Forever. Which one is better to you would probably end up being boiling down to which factor you think matters more but either way it’s certainly not a difference that’s night and day.
