On this October 1st, The United States Air Force Band would like to wish a very happy birthday to legendary composer, John Mackey! To celebrate, we're presenting a clip from his newest work for clarinet and wind ensemble called "Divine Mischief". The Band performed this wildly exciting piece earlier this year with world-renown clarinetist, Julian Bliss. The soloist plays the role of a trickster, demonstrating both unparalleled virtuosity and the ability to create tender, yearning melodies throughout. We are grateful for this new addition to the wind band repertoire - thank you, Mr. Mackey and Happy birthday!
