About Dr Balwant Dixit Collection:
Dr Balwant Dixit (Pittsburgh, USA) was an Emeritus Professor of Pharmacology (University of Pittsburgh). He was actively involved in promoting Indian Art Music and other Indian Performing Arts throughout the USA and Canada. Dr Dixit was the founding Director of the Center for the Performing Arts of India (http://www.india-arts.pitt.edu/dixit.html), a component of the University Center for International Studies (http://www.india-arts.pitt.edu/over.html).
In 2022, Dr Dixit donated a huge personal music collection (cassettes, CDs, LPs, and books) to ADRA. Most of these are live concert recordings organized in the USA. After digitizing and editing this audio material from various formats, we are making available this treasure to worldwide listeners.
