Arid is a Belgian rock band that emerged in the mid-1990s, composed of four talented members: Jasper Steverlinck (vocals and guitar), David Du Pré (guitar), Filip Ros (bass), and Steven Van Havere (drums).
Their journey began with a notable achievement, reaching the finals of the prestigious Belgian rock contest, Humo's Rock Rally, in 1996, which brought them to the attention of record label Double T.
In 1998, they released their debut album "Little Things Of Venom," which was later rebranded as "At The Close Of Every Day" for the United States market. Following the success of this album in 1999, they embarked on tours with renowned bands like Suede and their fellow Belgians, K's Choice. The subsequent year, they also had the honor of opening for Counting Crows during the latter's European tour.
The year 2001 marked a milestone for lead vocalist Steverlinck, who starred in the IMAX 3-D film "Haunted Castle," alongside Harry Shearer. The film featured the band's music in both the opening and closing credits.
In 2002, Arid released their second studio album, "All Is Quiet Now," which was swiftly followed by a live album recorded in 2003.
In 2008, their third studio album, "All Things Come in Waves," was unleashed.
In 2009, Steverlinck took on a new venture as the lead singer for a side project called Guilt Machine, chosen by Arjen Lucassen.
The year 2010 brought forth their fourth studio album, "Under the Cold Street Lights," further solidifying Arid's presence in the music scene.
