This cantata, Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott BWV 80, is a combative cantata written for Reformation Day as a battle song of the Reformation. Military references are found not just in the words, but in the music as well, built up by Bach over the years.

Recorded for the project All of Bach on June 21 2022 at Philarmonie Haarlem, the Netherlands. If you want to help us complete All of Bach, please subscribe to our channel https://bit.ly/2vhCeFB and consider donating https://bit.ly/3J5uprM.
