Enter the enchanting world of the Hamdel Ensemble and be carried away during this concert full of mysticism and emotion. Led by the renowned musician and composer Seyed Ali Jaberi, this ensemble brings contemporary Persian Sufi music to life during the second concert in the Musica Mundo Series 2025.
The Hamdel Ensemble was founded in Iran in 1997 and collects and arranges traditional Persian folk and Sufi music. The musicians share the unique language, culture and history with the audience in a modest way and use Iranian and Western instruments to create breathtakingly beautiful music. In addition to the characteristic driving Sufi percussion on daf, the tanbur, an oriental string instrument, plays a prominent role in Hamdel's music. Few musicians have made this sound as beautifully accessible as Seyed Ali Jaberi.
