Canntaireachd is a collaboration between multi-award winning singers and pipers Kim Carnie (Vocals), Kathleen MacInnes (Vocals), Brìghde Chaimbeul (Small Pipes and Bagpipes), and Ailis Sutherland (Small Pipes and Bagpipes). The all female super-group quartet perform live here at The National Piping Centre as part of Glasgow's Piping Live! Festival, exploring the deep and vital relationship between piping and Gaelic song.
Canntaireachd (which means “singing” in Gaelic) have carefully crafted their own unique and innovative sound, breathing new life into ancient melodies, tunes, and enchanting stories. The band fuse these centuries-old tales and tunes with fresh, innovative material, exploring and celebrating Scotland’s rich musical heritage.
