An Pierlé is a notable Belgian pianist and singer-songwriter, whose career began to take shape during her studies in classical piano. Born on December 13, 1974, as An Miel Mia Pierlé, she made a significant life choice at 17 by enrolling at Studio Herman Teirlinck, an art school in Antwerp, to further hone her artistic talents. During her third year at the school, Pierlé ventured into a solo program, performing her own songs accompanied solely by her piano, showcasing her innate talent and passion for music.

Her first brush with broader recognition came in 1996 when she participated in Humo's Rock Rally, a notable music competition, with a tape of her unique rendition of Gary Numan's "Are 'Friends' Electric?". This cover not only earned her a spot in the music scene but also led to the inclusion of her version on various albums, including "Random," a tribute album to Gary Numan. This exposure marked the beginning of Pierlé's ascent in the music industry.

Following her initial success, Pierlé spent two years touring with a theatre group, which broadened her experience and exposure in the performing arts. She also starred in a Belgian television series, "Moeder, waarom leven wij?", further diversifying her portfolio and showcasing her versatility as an artist. In addition to her acting and solo performances, Pierlé collaborated with the avant-garde ensemble DAAU (Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung) on the song "Broken," where she delivered all the vocal parts, demonstrating her significant vocal talent and ability to collaborate effectively with other artists.
Throughout her career, An Pierlé has shown a remarkable ability to blend classical training with contemporary music and performance art, making her a unique and influential figure in the Belgian music scene.
