D"Angelo was the savior of soul in the nineties and the debut album of D'Angelo,Brown Sugar, is arguably the best soul recording of the hip-hop era. Sexy and smooth and yet nice and raw as well. Due in part to his enthralling concerts, D'Angelo built up a faithful following who impatiently waited for five years for his next successful album, Voodoo.
