Buckshot LeFonque was an American music group that existed from 1990 to 1997. The leader of the band was Branford Marsalis. The band's name is derived from Cannonball Adderley's pseudonym "Buckshot LeFonque", Cannonball Adderley used his pseudonym for the album Here Comes Louis Smith. Marsalis, a fan of the music of Cannonball Adderley, had played with various artists such as Sting and Miles Davis when, as a result, he wanted to play music that was a mixture of the musical movements he had played before. The music of Buckshot LeFonque is a mixture of jazz, rock, pop music, R&B and hip-hop. The band released two albums and four singles. The single Another day was in the Dutch Single Top 100 for 27 weeks. It dragged the album Music evolution to 26 weeks of the Dutch Album Top 100.
