Slash's Snakepit is a rock band formed by Slash, the guitarist of Guns N' Roses and guitarist of Velvet Revolver. Slash's Snakepit (1995) Slash already had his own cover band (Slash's Blues Ball), but also wanted a band with which he could perform his own songs. After the UYI tour of Guns N' Roses, he founded "Slash's Snakepit" in 1995. He called some old and familiar faces together. Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke (members of Guns N' Roses), Matt Sorum took the place of Steven Adler in Guns N' Roses and Gilby Clarke the place of Izzy Stradlin), Mike Inez (Alice in Chains) and Eric Dover (Jellyfish) completed the band. In Slash's home studio, the songs for their first album (It's Five O'Clock Somewhere) were written and rehearsed. The name Slash's Snakepit comes from Slash's love of snakes. That is why his studio is also called the Snakepit. The band members: Slash (Saul Hudson): lead and rhythm guitar Eric Dover: vocals Matt Sorum: drums Gilby Clarke: rhythm guitar Mike Inez: bass guitar Slash's Snakepit (2000) For the album Ain't Life Grand? from 2000 Slash had to form a new line-up: the other artists had already returned to their own group or had started a new project themselves. This new band composition was without Matt Sorum, Eric Dover, Gilby Clarke and Mike Inez. The new formation was as follows: Slash (Saul Hudson): lead and rhythm guitar Rod Jackson: vocals Keri Kelli: rhythm guitar Johnny Blackout: bass guitar Matt Laug: drums Teddy Zigzag Andreadis: keyboard and harp.
