Myra Ellen (Tori) Amos (Newton (North Carolina), August 22, 1963) is an American singer-songwriter and classically trained pianist. She broke through in the early nineties with her solo debut album Little Earthquakes. Recurring themes in her songs are sexuality, politics, mythology, motherhood, feminism and religion. Amos became famous in the nineties and sold more than 20 million CDs. In the Netherlands, her best-known songs are Cornflake Girl and Winter. In the US, 'A Sorta Fairytale' is her biggest hit. Since its foundation in 1994, Amos has been involved as a spokesperson and ambassador for RAINN, an American organization that offers help to victims of sexual violence.

Her charting singles include "Crucify", "Silent All These Years", "God", "Cornflake Girl", "Caught a Lite Sneeze", "Professional Widow", "Spark", "1000 Oceans", "Flavor" and "A Sorta Fairytale".
