ABOUT
Silje Nergaard has become an indispensable singer in the European jazz scene. With her enchanting voice, her beautiful, romantic compositions and charming appearance Silje is an artist whose new albums are always something to yearn for - a yearning that isn't limited to her motherland Norway, where she was declared artist of the year. It all started with a spontaneous jam session with the band of Jaco Pastorius at a jazz festival in Norway. The was 16 years old when she climbed onto the stage. She was talented, the media concluded in unition, and gave her rave reviews. Her unusual, subtle and original vocal improvisations made the public shiver. Enough reason for Pat Metheny to introduce her to a mogul of the music industry. She made albums in English and Norwegian and established herself as a composer. This year her eighth album, Nightwatch, was released.
